Leckhampton Surgery is pleased to announce that over the next few months we will be developing an extended & improved service, offering travel advice and healthcare to private patients as well as to our existing patients.

We are recruiting a new nurse to help us provide this service, and will provide a range of services, from simple advice to tailored health care vaccination programmes, malaria treatments and travel packs.

We will continue to provide a high quality private travel health service to our own registered patients (providing NHS vaccinations when this is possible) and will be extending this service to any traveller who requires health care or advice for their trip.

How are we performing?

The Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) is the annual reward and incentive programme detailing GP practice achievement results. It is now in it’s second year of operation. QOF is a voluntary process for all surgeries in England and was introduced as part of the GP contract in 2004. QOF awards surgeries achievement points for:
  • managing some of the most common chronic diseases e.g. asthma, diabetes
  • how well the practice is organised
  • how patients view their experience at the surgery
  • the amount of extra services offered such as child health and maternity services

QOF gives an indication of the overall achievement of a surgery through a points system. Practices aim to deliver high quality care across a range of areas for which they score points.
