Leckhampton Surgery is pleased to announce that over the next few months we will be developing an extended & improved service, offering travel advice and healthcare to private patients as well as to our existing patients.

We are recruiting a new nurse to help us provide this service, and will provide a range of services, from simple advice to tailored health care vaccination programmes, malaria treatments and travel packs.

We will continue to provide a high quality private travel health service to our own registered patients (providing NHS vaccinations when this is possible) and will be extending this service to any traveller who requires health care or advice for their trip.

Surgery Improvements

Our New Reception

Work has now finished on our new reception area and it seems that most patients like the new look. We have created what we hope is a lighter, much more welcoming entrance to the surgery. Trevor (our book-in screen) has been repositioned to make it easier to use, and the counter has been specifically designed to accommodate wheelchair users, as has the wider door to the waiting room. We now have an intercom system which both staff and patients are getting used to. Although we would have liked to have had an open counter, it was important that we protect receptionists from the constant blast of cold air from the front doors, which made working at the front desk exceptionally unpleasant in all but the warmest weather.

It was not possible to incorporate a confidential booth within the space available, but please tell the receptionist if you want to have privacy for your conversation, and they will gladly arrange for you to be seen away from the main desk, in a more private setting.

We hope that you think the disruption which took place during the construction work was worthwhile, and would welcome any comments you have.
